Blog to disseminate the culture and philanthropy that young Germans experience traveling the world.
In 2019, a group of friends living in Germany (Ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch!) decided to create a travel and culture blog that documents the experiences that many young Germans have during the period between school and university or Hochschule, a stage in which they usually travel and volunteer in a country of their choice.
I worked with them as a graphic and UI designer.
This project was strictly visual design, so I did not carry out research work for potential readers, but rather relied on the information that other members of the team provided me. With this I prepared the site-map of the website and made sketches.
After this, I designed the desktop interface as a first step (I followed a downgrading process) and after presenting the designs to the team, I would complete the designs by making them responsive.
However, the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy put our project on hold and ultimately forced us to cancel it. Even so, I find it appropriate to show the prototypes of this could-be blog.
The first thing visitors would see when entering the blog would be a reel of featured articles.
Images play a central role in the interface, which is why most elements are accompanied by a photograph.
The rest of the main page interface would be divided between sponsorships, categories, and a call to action for the mailing list.
Note that each category has a promoted article. This was the chosen form of financing for the project.
All articles would be divided into just three categories: Lifestyle, Community, and Destinations.
Articles could only carry one category.
The articles would have an easy-to-read interface with an emphasis on photographs.
The above the fold of the articles would show only the title and a photograph, functioning as the cover before starting to read the body of the text.
For the About Us page I decided to use an illustrative image (the one I show now is from Unsplash) with a short text that describes, in the form of a letter, what the Lautspreche team is looking to create
Of all the pages, this is the simplest due to the ambiguity of the information that was handled at the time.
There are currently no plans to resume the project. However, if this changes, I will update this study. For the moment we have to treat these images as artifacts.
